This new restaurant is all about comfort food. The Treasure Coast's first Metro Diner at 2660 S.E. U.S. 1 in Stuart with large servings of dishes such as fried chicken and waffles, chicken pot pie and shrimp and grits. Most dishes are under $15. “It’s comfort food with a flair,” said Lance Hickman, managing partner of the Stuart Metro Diner. “We’re unique in that we serve a full menu all day long.” The 3,685-square-foot diner also serves beer, wine, mimosas and Bloody Marys. The restaurant is the first business to open in Baron Shoppes, which replaces the former Wallace Chevrolet on U.S. 1 near Monterey Road.

A Treasure Coast family fun center will soon become home to hundreds of workforce housing units and several new retail shops. 76 Golf World located off Kanner Highway in Stuart was in business for 32 years before closing its doors for good in November 2021.The 26-acre site is now owned by Jeremiah Baron Development.

"We're working with Starbucks, Hartland Dental, Chipotle, other national brands that we think will be great for the area, and the residential in the back," CEO Jeremiah Baron said. "We're really catering to teachers, firefighters, really to help with the lack of housing in the area right now."

Baron said he often likes to let local law enforcement use his empty buildings for training before they have to be torn down. He invited the Port St. Lucie Police Department SWAT team to train inside the old arcade.

Nearly 150 supporters came together to celebrate the Grand Opening of Baron Academy, a K-8 non-profit private learning center dedicated to serving students with unique and special needs.

The school’s founder and CEO, Kristine Erice, opened the doors to her smaller 2400 square foot school, Exceptional Academy for Differently-Abled Learners, back in January 2020 to fill a need in the community for a school for children who learn differently, just like her son, Dylan. There was a waitlist the moment they opened their doors and Kristine knew she needed to do more.
